What Can I Expect from Laser Skin Resurfacing?
If you have a deeper or more intense skin resurfacing session, you may be asked to use a retinoid cream for 2 – 3 weeks before your laser treatment. The retinoid helps prepare the skin for maximum results. Medication will be given prior to the procedure to help lessen discomfort so you can relax during your session. If your skin only needs mild improvement, a local anesthetic will be applied to numb certain areas of the face. For the whole face or deeper laser treatments, some kind of sedation may be necessary. You will feel warmth from the laser, followed by cold air from the built-in cooling system. The laser works to remove dead and damaged skin cells while also stimulating natural collagen production.
